Oh. I got drunk at you the one time.

Anyway, I'm in this... corridor... but I can't find any turns or dead-ends or anything.

...and I've no idea what happened to the Barge.

Oh right. Henry.

I'm outside this really big wall. There's doors here, and bugs flying around. And some people that haven't woken up.

I can't get in contact with my Inmate. Have you seen him?

Q, right? Haven't seen him. Haven't seen anybody, actually...

Is Morgan with you?

Nope, she's not here.

So we've both lost our 'other halves'.

I guess. Not much of a maze, though. It's just a straight line-- I feel like I'm getting nowhere.

Follow it then -- I got... what --

...I'll scale a wall or something. Get a bearing.

No. What if it's some... kind of monster, and the eyes are the only visible--

Fuck the eyes; the wall moved.

There was a route there ----- but now there's a wall.

That's impossible. Perhaps you took a wrong turn.

No. I ain't stupid -- I've been keeping markers.

I turn one way. Pause. Trace straight back, and OH. Dead end all the sudden.

Great. You're in a topsy turvy magic maze, and I've been walking in a straight line for forty minutes.

There is a... worm. And it's-- he's... he's talking. To me, I think. Let me see if--

I can't believe I'm going to talk to a worm.

Past the worm. Think we're in the same place as you. Stay where you are.

Uhm -- Not to interrupt, West, but I think I just walked into wherever you are. I only see two directions. Goes on a ways. Shout or something, see if I hear you! I'll try too!

And so, feeling like a total idiot, West turns away from the worm and shouts, "KAAAAAYYYYLLEEEEE THIS WAY!"

And now, back to the worm. "So. You're telling me, I've passed about a hundred different turns by now?"

From:

She can definitely hear that, but is not sure what direction it came from. Everything echoes funny.

She starts in one direction at a jog, minding debris as she goes. "WEEEEEST!"

From:

West nods at the worm. He still can't believe he's having this conversation.

"So which way--"

He stops.

"KAAAAYLLEEEEE!!!"

"Blimey, you're a loud one!" the worm remarks with a little chuckle.

Aiya! Other way!

She skids to a stop, rounds and dashes in the other direction, almost tripping flat on her face in the process.

"I'M COMING!" she shouts ahead of her.

From:

"ALRIGHT!" he calls back. He's not sure how long it's going to take for Kaylee to arrive, so he looks down at the worm again.

"So. About that tea..."

From:

Kaylee sees a blip in the distance that's not quite a fallen branch or rock, and the closer she gets the more it resembles a lanky guy in green clothing. "West?" She pauses for a breath, then hurries forward again, coming up on him and just for gladness of seeing another person who's not completely crazy or creepy looking, she throws her arms about his waist and hugs him. "A man came and took one of the Inmates away!" She looks up at him. "He took him and said we had to get to the center. Our items are saying that if we don't reach it in thirteen hours we're stuck here. We have to go!"

Whoa! He's really not expecting the hug, and the sudden movement makes him almost lash out to defend himself, but luckily, West gets a grip, remembers: not all humans running at you are out to kill you, and manages to stand there without striking. His body, however, tenses up completely.

"A-- what? Who did? Which inmate?"

He looks down at the worm with urgency. "Alright, forget the tea! Which way do we go?"

With a little chuckle, the worm responds. "Oh! Well, you wanna go thattaway."

"Into the wall."

"Things aren't always what they see--"

"Okay, alright."

"And from there." The worm thinks. "From there you wanna go that way." He nods his head in one direction.

From:

"The kid. The round one." She nods slowly, finally releasing him. And then she realizes he's talking to something, and she looks down. She's not sure what it is. It's blue. It has huge eyes. It has hair. Fluffy blue hair. "Awww, who's that?" she asks. Forget that the goblins had scared the crap out of her not minutes ago.

"That's-- William," West replies hesitantly.

"'Allo!" William greets chipperly.

"He's..." An awkward pause. "A worm."

"S'right!" the worm nods agreeably. "Alright, miss?"

Kaylee tries not to coo again. "Pleased to meet you, William," she says, looking up then at West meaningfully. She didn't think it'd be easy to get to the center in thirteen hours. They couldn't waste too much time. "But we really have to be going. Or we'll be late."

"Aww, come inside and have a nice cuppa tea," William insisted, clearly disappointed. "It'll make the trip go a lot smoother!"

She smiles -- not even certain how she'd have a cup of tea, much less go inside, with such a small person. "Perhaps another time," she offers.

From:

West offers the worm a wry half-smile (he will never ever ever tell anybody about this) and claps a hand on Kaylee's shoulder.

"Right. After. We've got.. an appointment to keep." He starts towards the false wall, which... surprisingly wasn't a wall at all. He turns back to the worm, grins, and says, "Thanks!"

Back to Kaylee. "Alright. We need to find Ralph." With that, he turns the direction that William told him to.

"Wait -- West, what are you--?"

Did she just walk through a wall? Blinking and looking around she realized that yes, they had come into a new place, and that place had actual turns in it.

"Shiny!" she beamed, but paused, frowning. "Who's Ralph?"

From:

"One of the inmates. He's around here, somewhere..."

West stops in his tracks, remembering what Ralph had told him about the walls. "Be careful. Apparently, this place... moves. The path'll change on us."

"How can it? They're just walls." But even as she is arguing Kaylee moves closer to West, all but clinging to his arm. How will she fare around two Inmates? West seems all right enough, and they really don't have much of a choice but to work together on this.
