I'm fine. [She watches him a long moment and sighs -- he's not going to calm down with just that, is he?] The Admiral wouldn't bring someone aboard that could make everyone else sick, Major. Diseases get left behind.

[Eee! His heart goes aflutter when Morgan puts her hands on his shoulders. It's almost enough to make him forget about his neurotic fears, just for a moment]

Morgan. [He gets reeeal close to her now, staring at her with intensity] I lost everybody I ever cared for to this. I can't lose another.

[The smile turns to something more genuine, but also sad.] The Admiral looks after us Wardens, Major. [After watching him a long moment, and realizing she's not really going to convince him, she rolls her eyes.] Would you feel better if you stayed with me, then?

Yes. [Oh, emphatically "YES".] Quarantined. That's the safest way-- nothing in, nothing out. [To emphasize this, he shuts the door and leans back against it, watching Morgan warily]

[He leans his head back against the door and eyes Morgan.]

Yes, you have. [She shakes her head.] I'll be fine. [Just disappointed. But it's the flood, she has to tell herself. Surely he won't be this jumpy once they're out of it again.] You're here to get past all those things, Major.

[He hesitates, mulling over what she said, then he shakes his head] It was a lot easier to when there wasn't the threat of it happening again.

[He closes his eyes and tries to think-- did any blood get in his mouth, his injuries? Come to think of it, probably] I wasn't-- the Infection from my world consumes you in under a minute, so... no.

But the man said his was different-- that he could be infected and we wouldn't know it yet.

[She stands and touches his shoulder, the other turns his face toward hers. Above all else she knows she's got to get him past this part, at least, lest he hurts somebody later or worse.]

[He doesn't know if that's true, but then it's Morgan saying it, and she wouldn't lie. So, the Major opens his eyes and looks at Morgan]

[And then he totally tries to kiss her]

[She doesn't react in time to get out of the way, though before lips touch something that might have wound up being "oh goddamnit" tried to escape from her throat. For whatever reason, she lets him have it for the moment, but doesn't stay there long before she draws back and puts a step or two between them.]
