050 - Oh dear!

Dearest Readers,

What a curious accident, my arrival here. It seems I have been spirited away, bedroom and all, to this strange vessel. Luckily, I am happy to report that my person and my belongings remain unmolested. Still, this is most irregular, and I must admit, were I a man of weaker constitution, I'd have fainted at the sight of my newfound surroundings and neighbours. As it is, I intend to embrace this strange, new world! I am already composing a new poem about it.

Yours Sincerely,
Henry West

Sir, I know this has been difficult for you, it has been for us all, but try not to let yourself get bogged down by the grief. Everyone goes through these stages of mourning when we lose a loved one or are abruptly removed from our hospitals or homes in such a manner.

Take comfort in your poetry, in your craft, in the arms of a loved one, or even the arms of a stranger, but be strong. Be strong for me.

Sir,

Pardon? I've nothing to grieve-- unless... Did something happen to Mother?

Yours Sincerely,
Henry West

Please, no formalities Henry.

It's William. Doctor, William. And I promise you, on my honor as a surgeon that your Mother is going to be fine.

Sir Dr. William,

Alright then. I shall strive for a casual correspondence...

What happened to Mother?

Yours Sincerely
Henry

Well Henry, after the initial gastric seizing and the rupture of the ensophoreaeal lining, I was able to inject her with twenty carbonated capsules of adrenativixomax, and for a few days it seemed to get worse, but after the surgery to drain the explungsion fluid from her ankles, it turned out she just had a simple case of glastrombigular fever!

She'll be fine!

I--

I don't follow, Dr. William. But, if you say that she will be fine, then I will trust your judgment as a medical professional.

Don't feel bad Henry. I save lives. It can be complicated.

Your mother is going to pull through thanks to the vital surgery that it was an honor and a privilege for me to provide for her. No need for thanks Henry, it's just what I do.

But I must thank you! I shall compose an ode in your honour! You may expect it within a fortnight.

[identity profile] my-freeze-ray.livejournal.com 2008-10-30 01:42 am (UTC)(link)
Please.

No Ode necessary, I've had enough odes written about me to last me a lifetime. The satisfaction of a life saved, the love between a man and his mother protected, that's enough for me...

You are truly an honourable man, Dr. William. I'm glad Mother is in the care of a man of your caliber although for the life of me I can't remember why.

Please Henry, my dear friend. I'm just doing my job.

[identity profile] major-west.livejournal.com 2008-10-30 01:56 am (UTC)(link)
Well, my friend, I will find a way to repay you some day.

[identity profile] my-freeze-ray.livejournal.com 2008-10-30 02:06 am (UTC)(link)
Oh Henry, your blind adoration gratitude is repayment enough.

You are a true hero, sir.

Yes, well, I try.
