095 - MAJOR HYPOCRITE

It's been rather quiet. Did the flood honestly affect all of you that much?

...

I suppose the limitations of this place may be partially to blame. There may not have been much in the way of entertainment, where I come from-- [Muttered aside] Aside from watching the Infected trigger the mines-- but at least we had the freedom to go about where we pleased, take in some fresh air and feel the rain-- or just... [Irritated sigh] Nevermind. I suppose I'm feeling a bit nostalgic right now.

Some company will do. On the deck. There, at least, I can pretend I'm truly outside. [Muttered] A drink would do, as well.

[OOC: West tried to be all supportive and hang out with Billy constantly for the house arrest, but now he's going STIIIIR CRAZY]

[identity profile] quiteknavish.livejournal.com 2009-07-26 02:51 am (UTC)(link)
Company? Oh, I have not truly met anyone thus far... I would be so appreciative of talking to another inhabitant in the flesh.

Unless, of course, this offer is not open to all those unfamiliar, in which case I would rescind that statement!

IS WEST GOING TO REGRET THIS?

[identity profile] major-west.livejournal.com 2009-07-26 02:54 am (UTC)(link)
No, the offer isn't restricted at all. If it were, I'd have made it private.

Major Henry West, by the way.

MAYBE?

[identity profile] quiteknavish.livejournal.com 2009-07-26 03:00 am (UTC)(link)
Oh I was wondering about those settings.

Puck! Or whatever you see fit to call me, since I've been informed that some mortal named a sport supply after me, it seems. Pleasure to make your acquaintance, dear sir.

EXCELLENT.

[identity profile] major-west.livejournal.com 2009-07-26 03:11 am (UTC)(link)
[Almost inaudible] Puck? ...what, really?

[After a moment, he gets over the surprise of "OMG SHAKESPEAREAN CHARACTER"]

Ah, yes, but one would have to be severely lacking in education to mistake your name, so I'll call you Puck.

Have you explored much of the Barge yet?

8D

[identity profile] quiteknavish.livejournal.com 2009-07-26 03:38 am (UTC)(link)
I would recommend you direct that comment to the boy in my journal!

Alas, not very much. I found pillows in common rooms, however, which I'm guessing is not entirely normal though very amusing. How large is this place, in actuality?

[identity profile] major-west.livejournal.com 2009-07-26 04:00 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, I wouldn't worry about that one.

I don't know, but I suppose it's bigger on the inside, oddly enough. It feels that way, at least. Despite the size of this place, there really isn't anything to see here. It has your basics: a library, a gym, a dining hall, an infirmary, and... ah, showers.

[identity profile] quiteknavish.livejournal.com 2009-07-26 04:12 am (UTC)(link)
Hmph. Well that's a boring collection of rooms! Though the larger-on-the-inside bit works, I suppose. I would so prefer being out in the open then in some stuffy gymnasium, much as you previously mentioned...

[He dons an amused tone] Showers?

[identity profile] major-west.livejournal.com 2009-07-26 04:18 am (UTC)(link)
The deck is as close as we get to being outdoors-- the view is incredible, at least, but the lack of breeze is a bit... disconcerting. Oh, and there's the Enclosure, too, but you have to be accompanied by a Warden. It's more of a simulation of nature than the true outdoors.

Er... yes. Inmates don't have their own, unfortunately.

[identity profile] quiteknavish.livejournal.com 2009-07-26 06:45 am (UTC)(link)
Indignity! The great outdoors is far beyond simulations. Care to show me this deck, Major?

Communal, how inconvenient. [He may or may not already be thinking of amusing things to do with this 'shared showers' bit.]

[identity profile] major-west.livejournal.com 2009-07-27 02:26 am (UTC)(link)
I can certainly meet you there, unless you require a tour guide.

It is, that.

[identity profile] quiteknavish.livejournal.com 2009-07-27 06:46 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not quite that incompetent, despite what the mortal body might lead you to believe. I will find my way at... Time?

[identity profile] i-hate-posses.livejournal.com 2009-07-26 03:13 am (UTC)(link)
Ain't gotten used to the idea this is a prison yet?

Private:

Could always try and take over again.

[identity profile] major-west.livejournal.com 2009-07-26 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
No, I suppose not.

[Private]
I don't think that would be a wise idea right now.

[identity profile] i-hate-posses.livejournal.com 2009-07-26 03:35 am (UTC)(link)
Well, I could always ask the warden for some whiskey, if you're lookin' for somethin' to do.

Private:

It ain't a wise idea ever, but we don't let that stop us.

[identity profile] major-west.livejournal.com 2009-07-26 03:56 am (UTC)(link)
I wonder if we could get our hands on some vodka, for a change. I'd even settle for tequila right now, so long as it would be a change

Private
But if we were to attempt it this time, how would we even go about it?

[identity profile] i-hate-posses.livejournal.com 2009-07-26 04:00 am (UTC)(link)
Tenquila! Now there's somethin' I ain't had in awhile. Not since I was in Mexico-- they got some real fine places down there and women who'll do all sorts of things.

Private:

Well, I reckon we start by throwin' all the real troublesome wardens over the edge. That way, there ain't no way for 'em to stop us.

[identity profile] major-west.livejournal.com 2009-07-26 04:18 am (UTC)(link)
You know, I've never been to Mexico.

[Private]
Who did you have in mind?

[identity profile] i-hate-posses.livejournal.com 2009-07-26 04:20 am (UTC)(link)
You've never been to Mexico? That's a damn shame. You know, the Boss used to have us go to Mexico all the time. Best place to lay low for awhile.

Private:
That bitch who keeps shootin' me for starters.

[identity profile] major-west.livejournal.com 2009-07-26 04:25 am (UTC)(link)
From what I hear, it's still used to lay low.

[Private]
That would be nice. But we would have to get a concentrated effort to throw the Wardens off-ship before the more powerful ones stop us. I don't see that happening right now.

NEVER MIND WEST IS FROM THE DISTANT FUTURE

[identity profile] i-hate-posses.livejournal.com 2009-07-26 04:28 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah? I wonder if all them girlies are still workin' at that place the Boss used to like to go.

Private:
Then we see how many we can throw over before they stop us. It'll be somethin' to do and a start, I reckon.

[identity profile] major-west.livejournal.com 2009-07-27 02:29 am (UTC)(link)
In my time? Probably not.

Private:
Do you recall the last time somebody was pushed over? The Barge crashed.

[identity profile] i-hate-posses.livejournal.com 2009-07-27 02:38 am (UTC)(link)
That's a shame.

Private:

Then maybe we should crash it again and see what sort of port we got to escape in.

[identity profile] major-west.livejournal.com 2009-07-26 04:19 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not lonely, really, just... thinking about some people I left behind. That's all. More than anything, I'd like to stretch my legs.

[identity profile] warmscalpelhigh.livejournal.com 2009-07-26 07:27 pm (UTC)(link)
You can come stretch them with me.

[identity profile] major-west.livejournal.com 2009-07-27 02:30 am (UTC)(link)
Well, I was going to meet Puck for a stroll on the deck. Would you care to join us?

[identity profile] warmscalpelhigh.livejournal.com 2009-07-27 03:13 am (UTC)(link)
Sure, hottie. Sounds fun.
gimmethemap: (weeeell)

[personal profile] gimmethemap 2009-07-26 04:05 am (UTC)(link)
Want to go hiking, Henry?

[identity profile] major-west.livejournal.com 2009-07-26 04:19 am (UTC)(link)
Is that a good idea, with your knee?
gimmethemap: (Default)

[personal profile] gimmethemap 2009-07-26 04:20 am (UTC)(link)
I've been doing okay. The medicine works well enough and I still need to exercise. Don't want to favor it too much.

Besides, if Adam Monroe is right I could ask for a blood transfusion and make it all go away anyway.
gimmethemap: (all right fine)

[personal profile] gimmethemap 2009-07-26 04:26 am (UTC)(link)
I've thought about it. Do I take the easy way out or do I tough it out and hope I get full use of it in the end?

[identity profile] major-west.livejournal.com 2009-07-27 02:31 am (UTC)(link)
I couldn't tell you. Personally, I find 'magic blood' rather suspect.
gimmethemap: (Default)

[personal profile] gimmethemap 2009-07-27 02:31 am (UTC)(link)
I do too. So, do you want to go or not?

[identity profile] major-west.livejournal.com 2009-07-27 02:37 am (UTC)(link)
I agreed to meet some other Inmates on the deck; how does tomorrow sound to you?
gimmethemap: (smile)

[personal profile] gimmethemap 2009-07-27 02:39 am (UTC)(link)
All right.

[identity profile] lazarusrisen.livejournal.com 2009-07-26 05:46 am (UTC)(link)
Both of those things sound lovely. Anything that's not soapy water is fine by me.

[identity profile] lazarusrisen.livejournal.com 2009-07-27 02:49 am (UTC)(link)
I'm on janitorial duty. Bathrooms are disgusting.

LOL HAIRLESS ENGLISH GUYS

[identity profile] major-west.livejournal.com 2009-07-27 02:52 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, I know. I keep finding body hair all over the shower stalls. Who on Earth needs to shed that much?

YAY FOR BITCHY HAIRLESS ENGLISH GUYS

[identity profile] lazarusrisen.livejournal.com 2009-07-27 02:53 am (UTC)(link)
Obviously not me or you. I can't even think of a man who has that much hair.

Re: YAY FOR BITCHY HAIRLESS ENGLISH GUYS

[identity profile] major-west.livejournal.com 2009-07-27 03:40 am (UTC)(link)
Probably one of the Italians. Honestly, I don't know how any woman could stand that.
Edited 2009-07-27 03:45 (UTC)

[identity profile] lazarusrisen.livejournal.com 2009-07-27 04:04 am (UTC)(link)
I know what you mean. You know, most if not all of the barge is clean shaven. That might account for some of the hair.

[identity profile] major-west.livejournal.com 2009-07-27 04:33 am (UTC)(link)
What I am finding is absolutely not stubble. It's disgusting.

[identity profile] lazarusrisen.livejournal.com 2009-07-27 04:45 am (UTC)(link)
Pardon me while I go vomit.
