032 - West's so jittery right now...

BOLLOCKS! My legs itch!

So, everybody's back to normal. Oh. Good. Great. Yeah.

Skinny dipping with-- What an awful ordeal that was. At least it's over now, all's well, and we're back to our proper... selves.

[Private to the Marquis]
You're a bloke again, yeah?

You ought to thank your God that they didn't come back.

[identity profile] major-west.livejournal.com 2008-09-09 05:21 pm (UTC)(link)
I have no reason to thank any god. If they came back, it just meant we would've died faster. Same result.

I imagine that your particular strain was much easier to kill off.

Headshots, my young friend, are not so easy as Hollywood would have you believe.

[identity profile] major-west.livejournal.com 2008-09-09 05:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes. If we'd waited for the Infected to starve to death like I'd intended, things would have worked out.

[identity profile] redeker-plan.livejournal.com 2008-09-09 05:28 pm (UTC)(link)
How reassuring to know they would have eventually died of starvation.

Our strain slowly succumbed to the ravages of time, festering until the brain rotted and ceased to function.

Years and years.

[identity profile] major-west.livejournal.com 2008-09-09 05:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Eventually, yes, after obliterating the population of Britain nearly overnight. How fast did it spread for you?

[identity profile] redeker-plan.livejournal.com 2008-09-09 05:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Before anyone in the West even knew what was happening, millions were infected between China and Romania.

Cape Town succumbed...quite quickly.

[identity profile] major-west.livejournal.com 2008-09-09 05:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh. I still don't even know what happened to the rest of the world.

[identity profile] redeker-plan.livejournal.com 2008-09-09 05:44 pm (UTC)(link)
The rest of the world is in shambles.

If everyone had taken my advice to heart, and followed the plan...

But nevermind. It is...unimportant, in a way.

[identity profile] redeker-plan.livejournal.com 2008-09-09 05:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Salvage the human race, not save it; attempting to rescue every last individual wastes time, resources, and manpower.

The models of goverments who chose to attempt to save every living soul was somewhat a blow to moral, if you get my meaning.

In nearly every case, seventy-five to ninety percent of the population became infected within the first month.

Fools.

[identity profile] major-west.livejournal.com 2008-09-09 05:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Hm.

...in my case, there were so few people left that saving all of them save dissenters was the only option.

[identity profile] redeker-plan.livejournal.com 2008-09-09 05:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Perhaps things may have reached that point.

Eventually.

I can't say for certain, of course - to my knowledge, the war is still being waged.

[identity profile] major-west.livejournal.com 2008-09-09 06:01 pm (UTC)(link)
How long has it been going?

[identity profile] redeker-plan.livejournal.com 2008-09-09 06:03 pm (UTC)(link)
In the West, perhaps six months? Who knows. They can't pinpoint when the infection began, or even where refugees broke through the blockades.

[identity profile] major-west.livejournal.com 2008-09-09 06:04 pm (UTC)(link)
...oh. We barely made it a month.

[identity profile] redeker-plan.livejournal.com 2008-09-09 06:12 pm (UTC)(link)
From what I understand, your strain took effect within minutes. Imagine what might have happened if it took twenty-four hours - how many people might have escaped the confines of your country while incubating the virus.

[identity profile] major-west.livejournal.com 2008-09-09 06:15 pm (UTC)(link)
...so under your plan, would Britain have been placed under quarantine?

[identity profile] redeker-plan.livejournal.com 2008-09-09 06:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Absolutely.

You must understand, the military plays an integral role in the plan; they are the ones responsible for the institution of a safe zone and a "hot spot", as it were. As many refugees as were uninfected would be allowed to make their way, by their own means, to the safe spot. Of course, you know dogs can smell out those with the infection, don't you?

Others - uninfected souls of the bravest kind, of course - would wait in the hot spot, drawing the attention of the infected until such time as a military outfit could be made available to eliminate the threat.

I've heard all the nonsense about sacrifice this, abandon that...it's utter rubbish. A cache of resources - food and what have you - would be delivered by air transport to the hot spots as often as woul be necessary. If they are the resourceful sort of people, they would be perfectly fine.

[identity profile] major-west.livejournal.com 2008-09-09 06:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Then I suppose the rest of the world was using your plan. According to my... files, we were quarantined. The rest of the world sat back and waited for us to die.

Do people have a choice to live in these 'hot spots'?

[identity profile] redeker-plan.livejournal.com 2008-09-09 06:32 pm (UTC)(link)
I suppose the choice depends on the government; do people in China have a choice? Doubtful.

It's none of my concern how other countries choose to interpret the letter of my plan.

[identity profile] major-west.livejournal.com 2008-09-09 06:35 pm (UTC)(link)
...alright.
