My name is Major Henry West, formerly of the M602 Blockade, presently... [He pauses.] at an unknown location, and I have not been exposed to Infection. [LOL NOT TRUE.] I repeat: I am Major Henry West, and I have not been exposed to Infection.

[Another pause.]

The rescue-- if I may assume this is indeed a rescue-- is appreciated, but I'm afraid I'm at something of a loss with regards to the details of it. Where are we, and how secure are these premises? How many survivors are there?

[OOC: People on Level 3 may have heard him screaming in horror and agony as he appeared, as West has just returned from his death at the hands of Mailer. He's been listening in on the network a little and has popped his head out his door once, but doesn't really know WTF is going on. But, to those of you who haven't heard him scream like a little girl, he's going to act like he's totally fine and hasn't just experienced the death of all his boys.]

[There's sort of an awkward moment. Billy looks down at the dog-tags, then (as though a fresh thought occurs to him) suddenly looks back to West, sharply.]

Hey, you're not getting these back, you know? Just because you think you can just vanish and then come back all sarcastic and crazy again? That doesn't mean you can un-give me stuff!

I'm not the one coming across as a madman here.

Yeah, well, that's nothing new. You never did come across as crazy, or whatever.

[OHLOL, that reminds me!]

Hey, look, if you start getting nightmares again? Maybe you could talk to the people at the infirmary about getting something to help you sleep? Or Libby, she's like a shrink who lives here. I mean, just if you have any trouble with sleeping, otherwise, it doesn't matter.

[TEEEENSELY] And why do you believe I would have problems sleeping?

[Careful little shrug.] It's just a thing you used to get. You'd wake up screaming.

I see. And this is something you've learned about me during our two years together.

We. Are. Friends.

We have been friends for two years.

I have lived two rooms away from you for two years, and yes in that time the first six months or whatever of you waking up screaming in the middle of the night did catch my attention.

I have never been here before in my life.

Okay, okay, maybe you haven't, but there was someone here, and his name was Major Henry West, and he looked just like you, and he gave me his dog tags and made me look at stupid art stuff with him and he had nightmares. So for the sake of my sanity I'm just going to pretend that there's only one Major Henry West in the universe and tell myself that he's got amnesia and that eventually he'll remember me.

[LONG PAUSE.]

Then I hope you find your Major Henry West one day, because I do not have amnesia.

Yeah, well, I guess.

[AND ANOTHER LONG PAUSE, but he just can't bear the thought of West being taken by surprise and upset by stuff.]

Oh! Hey! There's something else I should tell you! We have-- uh, there's a man on board who looks like Jim [He puts his hands up quickly] but who is not Jim, and who you should try really hard not to frenziedly attack.

...pardon? What do you know about a man named Jim?

I know that he's been here, a few times, and that as a general rule any time he shows up, you instantly try to kill him.

Has he? When was the last time he passed through?

Months ago. You, me, him and Morgan had a brawl in the corridor, because true to form, the moment you saw him? You attacked!
